
1047 Games Halts Development on Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded
The studio behind Splitgate is winding down active work on both shooters and shifting them to peer-to-peer hosting, marking a move away from live service games.

1047 Games is ending active development on two of its titles, Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, according to reports from GamesIndustry.biz and TechPowerUp. Both games will transition to peer-to-peer hosting instead of dedicated servers.
In a post on social media, the studio said neither title was generating enough revenue to cover the ongoing expense of running dedicated servers. TechPowerUp reported that the studio explained it had continued paying those costs to give both games a chance to grow, but had reached a point where doing so was no longer sustainable.
