
Airbnb CEO Says X Account Hacked, Used to Post AI-Generated Tokenization Thread
Brian Chesky said his X account was compromised and used to publish AI-generated posts about tokenizing real-world assets. He reclaimed the account and distanced himself from the messages.

Airbnb Chief Executive Brian Chesky said his account on X was hacked and used to publish a series of AI-generated posts promoting the tokenization of real-world assets, according to reporting by CoinDesk and BitKE.
After regaining control of the account, Chesky distanced himself from the messages. He wrote that he wanted to thank the person who had hacked his account for the new crypto followers, and told those followers he would be a very disappointing follow, according to CoinDesk.
The now-deleted thread argued that tokenization could make ownership of assets such as real estate, bonds and investment funds more liquid and accessible through blockchain technology. The posts did not contain cryptocurrency wallet addresses, token sales or phishing links, setting them apart from the scams that usually follow high-profile account compromises.
