Apple Debuts First Foldable iPhone Duo and 2nm A20 Pro Chip
Apple's first fall event under new CEO John Ternus introduced the foldable iPhone Duo, the iPhone 18 Pro line, and its first 2-nanometer smartphone chip.

Apple has introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The announcements came at the company's first product event led by John Ternus, who has taken over as chief executive from Tim Cook, according to GSMArena and Tom's Hardware.
All three devices run on the new A20 Pro, which Tom's Hardware reports is Apple's first 2-nanometer chip in an iPhone. The processor pairs with a new in-house C2 modem. Apple describes the A20 Pro as a "desktop-class" processor and the fastest CPU in a smartphone, according to Tom's Hardware. The chip features a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU that Apple says is 40% faster than the previous generation, and two neural engines with a combined 32 cores. The company also reworked the packaging so memory sits outside the SOC's thermal path, allowing the silicon to attach directly to a vapor chamber with three times the surface area of the iPhone 17 Pro.
