Bitwise is set to close its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund, known by the ticker BWOW, less than a year after the product launched, according to reporting from Decrypt and BitKE.
The fund, which began trading in November 2025, is scheduled to stop trading on October 14, according to Decrypt, with cash payments to remaining shareholders expected around October 22. BitKE reported that BWOW traded on NYSE Arca and that the fund is expected to convert its remaining Dogecoin holdings into cash before distributing the proceeds to shareholders.
According to BitKE, the fund held roughly $688,000 in net assets as of September 9, 2026. Bitwise said it was closing the fund to optimize its product range to meet evolving investor needs, as reported by BitKE, and did not cite weak demand as the reason.
