ESA Prepares Dual Launch of FLEX and Sentinel-3C From Kourou on 15 September
Two European spacecraft, ESA's photosynthesis mission FLEX and Copernicus satellite Sentinel-3C, are set to launch together as mission teams rehearse parallel operations.

The European Space Agency is preparing to send two spacecraft into orbit aboard a single launcher on 15 September, lifting off from Europe's spaceport in Kourou. The pair comprises FLEX, ESA's photosynthesis mission, and Sentinel-3C, the newest satellite in the Copernicus programme dedicated to monitoring Earth's oceans, land, ice and atmosphere.
At ESA's European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), two separate mission teams are getting ready to run both spacecraft at the same time in a tightly coordinated effort. According to ESA, the teams have been rehearsing alongside one another ahead of launch, preparing both for their individual missions and for the points at which the two operations overlap.
