The Ethereum Foundation is charting a technical course it calls "Lean Ethereum," with co-founder Vitalik Buterin setting out the initiative's leading priorities. According to Cointelegraph, the effort centres on making the network both more private and more scalable, objectives that have long shaped debate among developers and users across Europe's active crypto and Web3 communities.
A New Virtual Machine in Focus
A core element of the plan is the introduction of a new virtual machine, the software layer responsible for executing code on the network. Cointelegraph reported that two candidates are among the frontrunners for this role: leanISA and RISC-V. The choice of virtual machine architecture can influence how efficiently the network processes transactions and how readily developers can build applications on top of it.
