HBS Details Expanded Host-Broadcast Plans for 2026 World Cup Final
Host broadcaster HBS is enhancing coverage for the Spain-Argentina final at MetLife Stadium with FPV drones, more cameras, and centralized replay teams.

Host Broadcast Services (HBS) is scaling up its production for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, according to a preview by Executive Producer Riki van Steeden published by Sports Video Group.
The final, set for Sunday at MetLife Stadium, pits Spain against Argentina. van Steeden outlined a range of enhancements planned for the host-broadcast operation, including expanded fan coverage, first-person-view (FPV) drones, additional in-stadium cameras, celebrity shots, and coverage of the opening ceremony and halftime show. HBS is also preparing a large-scale production around the post-match trophy presentation.
Among the tournament's production innovations, van Steeden pointed to RefCam, remote replay, and remote shading workflows. Sports Video Group reported that HBS is running seven centralized replay teams supporting 16 production teams, drawing on operators from around the world in what it described as the largest FIFA World Cup production staged to date.
