Intel-Backed Hypertune Overclocking Tool Claims Up to 60% FPS Gains

Hypertune, an automated overclocking tool developed in partnership with Intel, has launched its Gaming Performance Engineering platform following an early access phase that involved more than 60,000 participants.

The software is built on top of Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) software development kit, with Intel contributing engineering resources to the project. According to TechPowerUp, the tool comes from a Miami-based gaming company, citing launch coverage from GamesBeat.

The company says the utility can improve frame rates by up to 60%, but both Tom's Hardware and TechPowerUp note that figure is not expected to be typical. TechPowerUp reports that most systems will see only a few percentage points of improvement.

Hypertune provides automated overclocking for both CPU and GPU, along with RAM tuning for latency and frequency, network optimization, customizable Windows settings, and game-specific adjustments. The company says the tool analyzes each system's hardware configuration, drivers, and Windows settings through what it calls a Smart Optimization Engine, which observes the setup before applying an optimization preset. Hypertune states that the software evaluates every supported system individually rather than relying on generalized profiles.
