This is not Lenovo's first involvement with the EWC. The company made its debut at the 2025 edition, when more than 2,000 Legion systems were deployed across the tournament floor, broadcast areas, creator spaces, and festival grounds. The Legion brand featured across all 24 games at that event, and the broadcast reached an estimated 750 million viewers worldwide, per TechPowerUp.

The hosting of the 2026 edition in Paris places one of the world's largest esports gatherings within the European market, a factor relevant to the broader tech and business links between Europe and other regions, including Africa, where esports participation and viewership continue to expand.

Hardware Innovation Tied to the Deal

TechPowerUp noted that Lenovo's ongoing role in the EWC has influenced its product development. At CES 2026 earlier this year, the company showed the Legion Pro Rollable Concept, a gaming laptop built around a 16-inch rollable PureSight OLED display. The screen can extend to 21.5 inches and up to a full 24 inches, aimed at players who need additional screen space while training away from a fixed setup.

The arrangement reflects a wider industry pattern in which hardware manufacturers use high-profile esports events both as showcases for existing product lines and as testing grounds for emerging display and form-factor technologies. For Lenovo, supplying the competition systems and monitors positions its Legion brand prominently in front of a global audience while tying its product roadmap to the demands of professional players.
