Modders Get Leaked DLSS 5 Running on Nvidia RTX 4000 GPUs
A modder has patched Nvidia's leaked DLSS 5 tool to work on RTX 4000 Ada Lovelace cards, despite the software targeting only RTX 5000 Blackwell hardware.

Modders have managed to run Nvidia's leaked DLSS 5 tool on RTX 4000 series "Ada Lovelace" graphics cards, even though the software was built only for RTX 5000 "Blackwell" hardware.
The file, a Neural Rendering DLL (nvngx_dlssnr.dll), leaked earlier this week through an early-access build of NBA 2K27, according to TechPowerUp and Tom's Hardware. After the leak, members of the RenoDX Discord server got the tool working in other games, including Remedy Entertainment's Control, using ReShade and RenoDX to activate the additional files.
The AI model inside the DLL runs on FP8, a format that Ada Lovelace GPUs support. The limitation was that the compiled binaries targeted Blackwell's sm_120 architecture, with nothing built for Ampere or Ada. As TechPowerUp explained, certain CUDA binaries could only be read by Blackwell GPUs.
