Nedbank Names Former MTN CIO Nikos Angelopoulos to Lead Its Technology Strategy
South Africa's Nedbank has appointed Nikos Angelopoulos, formerly group CIO at MTN, as its new chief information officer, effective September 1.

Nedbank, South Africa's fourth-largest lender, has named Nikos Angelopoulos as its new chief information officer. He joins from MTN Group, where he had served as group chief information officer since 2018, and takes up the role on September 1.
At MTN, Angelopoulos spent eight years leading the group's technology strategy, cloud investments and digital infrastructure across its 16 markets. In a statement announcing the appointment on Friday, Nedbank described him as an internationally experienced technology executive with more than 30 years of experience spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. The bank said his MTN responsibilities covered IT strategy, investments, delivery and governance across markets serving more than 300 million customers.
