Finnish smart ring maker Oura has filed a fresh lawsuit against Ultrahuman in the United States, targeting the India-based company's latest product, the Ring Pro. According to Engadget, the case was brought in a Texas federal court.
The move follows an earlier dispute between the two firms. Last year, Oura sued Ultrahuman in the US over patent infringement, and the court found against Ultrahuman, as reported by GSMArena. As a result, the Ultrahuman Ring Air was removed from the market.
Ultrahuman subsequently reworked its product and introduced the Ring Pro in the US. Oura's new complaint cites two patents covering the ring's design and internal components. The company is seeking monetary damages and is again asking the court to halt all Ring Pro sales in the US. The case is ongoing.
