Overclocker Luumi has claimed the top position in HWBot's Cinebench R11.5 rankings for the Intel Core i5-4670K, surpassing a record that had stood for about 12 years.
The chip, a Haswell-era quad-core launched by Intel in 2013, was pushed to 6,301 MHz with liquid nitrogen cooling, producing a multicore score of 10.8 cb. That narrowly beat the previous mark of 10.76 cb set by Strat at 6,249 MHz, according to TechPowerUp. The leaderboard remains close, with Moose83 in third place at 10.74 cb out of 187 submissions.
The i5-4670K is an unlocked four-core, four-thread processor with a stock base and boost of 3.4 GHz and 3.8 GHz, an 84W TDP, 6MB of cache and integrated HD 4600 graphics, built on Intel's 22 nm process. The 6,301 MHz run represents roughly 66 percent above the chip's rated boost clock.
