Polish Parliament Fails to Override Veto of Crypto Oversight Bill
Lawmakers fell short of the votes needed to reverse President Nawrocki's veto as the Zondacrypto fraud probe widens.

Poland's parliament on Friday did not gather enough votes to reverse President Karol Nawrocki's veto of legislation meant to tighten supervision of the country's cryptocurrency sector, according to BitKE and Cointelegraph.
The lower house, known as the Sejm, voted 241 to 198 in favour of overriding the veto, with three abstentions, BitKE reported. That fell short of the 266 votes required to meet the three-fifths threshold.
The bill would have set up Poland's framework for applying the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules and put the industry under the oversight of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. According to BitKE, Nawrocki has rejected crypto legislation three times, arguing the proposed measures carry excessive regulatory costs and grant authorities powers that are too broad, including the ability to block websites.
