The KytyPS5 emulation project can now run the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC at up to 60 frames per second, according to TechPowerUp and Tom's Hardware. The performance holds only for a few minutes before the game crashes.
A demo circulated on X shows the game running between 40 and 60 FPS, with the frame rate fluctuating depending on how much action is on screen. The footage covers the opening North Yankton mission, and the game crashes shortly before the early police encounter. The test machine used a Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor (Tom's Hardware refers to it as a Ryzen 7 9950X3D) paired with a Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card, a high-end configuration.
