Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) have become the biggest trading category on the decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid, surpassing cryptocurrency perpetuals for the first time.
According to BlockWorks data cited by ARK Invest's Director of Digital Assets Research, Lorenzo Valente, RWAs generated $25.1 billion in trading volume between July 13 and 19, 2026. That figure represented 54% of Hyperliquid's $48.2 billion weekly trading volume, meaning more than half of the trades executed on the platform during the week were tied to tokenized real-world assets rather than cryptocurrencies.
