Spotify Adds Toggle to Keep Kids' Music Out of Recommendations
A new global setting lets Spotify users stop children's and family music from shaping their recommendations, Daily Mix, and Wrapped.

Spotify is introducing a setting that lets users prevent kids' and family music from affecting their personalized recommendations, according to Android Authority and Engadget.
When the option is switched off, children's music is kept out of features such as Discover Weekly, Daily Mix, and the 2026 edition of Wrapped. Android Authority reported that the change applies retroactively and is rolling out globally on mobile for both Free and Premium users.
The update builds on Spotify's Managed Accounts, which keep a child's listening history separate from a parent's. According to Android Authority, that feature launched to all US-based users earlier in the summer following a pilot, giving children their own space while parents retained oversight. However, Managed Accounts do not address situations where a parent plays children's music directly from their own account, such as during car rides, which can still influence recommendations and even appear in year-end Wrapped summaries. The new toggle is aimed at preventing that overlap.
