Strategy has revised the metrics it uses to describe its bitcoin holdings, introducing new measures intended to give common shareholders a clearer picture of the company's net bitcoin exposure, according to reporting by CoinDesk and Decrypt.
Among the new figures is a metric described as "net bitcoin per share." The framework is designed to account for the company's obligations tied to preferred stock and convertible debt, stripping out those claims to reflect what remains attributable to common shareholders.
Decrypt reported that the firm links the change to a shift toward what it calls "digital credit," which it says requires new yardsticks that exclude debt and preferred claims to indicate what common shareholders own.
CoinDesk reported that the update, led by Michael Saylor and his team, comes as a bear market in crypto continues.
