Telegram plans to roll out a built-in, non-custodial Gram wallet across its messaging app this summer, according to an announcement by founder Pavel Durov reported by BitKE. The feature would allow the platform's more than one billion users to send and receive cryptocurrency directly within Telegram, without depending on third-party custodians.
The wallet is designed to support instant, zero-fee crypto transfers and to make self-custody more accessible to the platform's global user base. Durov characterized the launch as the largest deployment of a non-custodial crypto wallet to date, per BitKE.
