
The Exploration Company Raises €387 Million to Advance Reusable Space Transport
The European space firm's Series C brings total funding to about $680 million, backing its Nyx capsule and Storm rocket engine.

The Exploration Company (TEC), a European space firm, has secured a Series C financing round of €387 million (around $450 million), the company announced on 8 September 2026.
The round was co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Atomico and the Scaleup Europe Fund, which is managed by EQT. Existing backers also took part, including Balderton, Plural, Cherry and Red River West. According to Tech.eu, the financing raises TEC's total funding to approximately $680 million, and Bessemer's Alex Ferrara will take a seat on the company's board of directors.
TEC develops reusable spacecraft and propulsion systems built to move cargo between Earth and orbit. Its near-term focus is Nyx, a reusable capsule designed to carry cargo to current and future space stations and bring it back to Earth safely, with the potential to transport crew at a later stage. The company plans for Nyx to dock with the International Space Station and then return to Earth, demonstrating an end-to-end reusable orbital transport capability.
