
Trust Emerges as Key Growth Factor in Europe's iGaming Market
As products and payments converge across operators, player trust is increasingly seen as the differentiator driving retention in Europe's growing online gambling sector.

European iGaming has long grown on the back of stronger product offerings, quicker payment systems and moves into new markets. But according to a sponsored analysis published by EU-Startups, those factors are no longer sufficient on their own, as players encounter broadly similar games, bonuses and payment options across most operators. The piece argues that whether players trust a brand to treat them fairly after signing up has become a central competitive factor.
The commercial context is substantial. The European Gaming and Betting Association reported that European gambling gross gaming revenue was around €123.4 billion in 2024, an increase of roughly 5% year on year, with online channels taking a growing share. H2 Gambling Capital projects the European market will expand from about €154.8 billion ($177 billion) in 2024 to €206.4 billion ($236 billion) by 2030.
