Microsoft has given an early look at one of the first public experiments from its recently created Xbox Labs team: the classic Xbox 360 Blades dashboard running inside a web browser on a PC.
Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet demonstrated the interface, which TechPowerUp reports also includes the later New Xbox Experience (NXE) and the Metro-style dashboard. All three appeared fully navigable in the short clip. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who announced Xbox Labs last week with Van Vliet leading it, shared the footage and asked whether people liked the experiment.
According to TechPowerUp, the browser's address bar in the video shows FFFE07D1, the Title ID associated with the Xbox 360 dashboard, which suggests Microsoft could be running actual Xbox 360 system software through some form of emulation or translation layer. Microsoft has not explained how the setup works.
