
Aachen-based amber raises €7M Series A for autonomous business AI
The German AI startup plans to expand across Europe and develop its platform that helps SMEs access and operationalise internal company knowledge.

amber, an AI platform based in Aachen, Germany, has closed a €7 million Series A funding round to grow across Europe and continue building technology that helps small and medium-sized businesses tap into their internal company knowledge.
The round was co-led by Ventech, an existing investor that increased its stake, and NRW.Venture, the venture capital fund of NRW.BANK.
Founded in 2021 by Bastian Maiworm, Philipp Reißel and Igli Manaj, amber develops a platform that connects, structures and contextualises company information spread across emails, documents, cloud applications and internal systems. The company says it combines conventional search, generative AI, assistant features and automation into a single product, and that it operates in compliance with the GDPR.
