A series of funding rounds have gone to startups building infrastructure to review, validate and secure software as AI coding tools accelerate how quickly engineering teams generate code.
CodeRabbit, which operates an AI code review service, raised $143 million in Series C funding at a $1.5 billion valuation. The round was co-led by Atomico and Smash Capital, with new investors including BMW i Ventures, Datadog, Hirtle Callaghan and SineWave Ventures, alongside existing backers CRV, Scale Venture Partners and Flex Capital. The financing comes less than a year after the company raised $60 million. CodeRabbit says its revenue has grown more than fivefold year over year and that it now performs more than two million code reviews each week across 17,000 customers, including Adyen, BMW, Indeed, JFrog, NVIDIA and Trivago. The company plans to use the capital for international expansion and research and product development, and intends to invest more than $10 million in open-source support to keep its review and agent tools free for maintainers.
