AI Startups Draw Cross-Border Funding Across Health, HR, Tax and Infrastructure
A wave of new financing rounds spanning the US, Europe and Iceland shows investors backing AI-driven platforms in healthcare, HR, tax compliance and cloud infrastructure.

Several technology startups on both sides of the Atlantic have announced fresh funding rounds, most centred on artificial intelligence applied to specialised business workflows.

Basalt Health raised $20 million in a Series A round led by returning investor New Enterprise Associates, according to Ventureburn. The financing brings the company's total capital raised to roughly $24.5 million. Basalt's platform reads post-acute care referrals arriving via fax, portals or electronic medical record integrations, evaluates them against facility-specific clinical criteria, and supports admissions, benefits checks and prior authorisations. The company says about 14 million patients enter post-acute care each year, with placement still largely reliant on manual processes. Founder and chief executive Ben Hackett spent nearly a decade at Accolade.
