Amazon has introduced several additions to its Echo range, including a new smart alarm clock focused on sleep and a version of its Echo Studio speaker that integrates a camera.
The Echo Time is a camera-free smart clock priced at $200 and available now, according to Android Authority. Designed for the nightstand, the orb-shaped device resembles the Echo Spot and centers on sleep wellness. It is powered by Alexa+ and can detect sleep without requiring a wearable. Its smart alarm activates within 10 to 60 minutes of a set time, waking the user when it detects a lighter stage of sleep. As the wake-up window approaches, the display brightens and a customizable alarm tone begins quietly before gradually increasing in volume with each snooze, up to four times. At night, the screen dims to show only the current time or the time of the next alarm. Amazon says the device offers science-backed wind-down and wake-up features that have received the National Sleep Foundation's SleepMark designation. A version aimed at children includes parent-controlled sleep schedules.
