Apple has entered the foldable phone market with the iPhone Duo, its first device in the category, and early reader feedback suggests it is attracting attention from some Android users.
According to Android Authority, the iPhone Duo features a display with a near-invisible crease, a range of software functions, and a price of $1,999. The outlet said reactions among its own staff were mixed, with some impressed by the device and others continuing to favour Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Android Authority ran a reader poll to measure whether the iPhone Duo could tempt everyday Android users to move to Apple. The poll was tied to an opinion piece by writer Dhruv Bhutani, who said the device could lead him to leave Android after 15 years. Android Authority reported that he was drawn to the phone's wide design, its barely visible crease, and its software experience, viewing the cameras as an acceptable trade-off, though he said he wanted to test the phone before spending $2,000.
