
Bitcoin Tops $69,000 and Ether Jumps 18% in Broad Crypto Rally
Bitcoin climbed nearly 8% and Ether gained about 18% over 24 hours as roughly $1.4 billion in short positions were liquidated and the U.S. Treasury doubled its bond buybacks.

Cryptocurrency prices rose sharply over a 24-hour period, with Bitcoin trading above $69,000 and Ether adding around 18% to surpass $2,250, according to reporting from BitKE and CoinDesk.
Bitcoin gained close to 8% to trade above $69,100 after briefly nearing $69,900 overnight, a rebound of more than $5,700 from a low of about $64,100 recorded on Wednesday. CoinDesk reported that Bitcoin had briefly touched $70,000 earlier in the week, its first time at that level since June, rising more than 7% on Wednesday.
Ether outperformed the wider market, climbing roughly 18% over the day and extending its weekly gain to about 20%, making it the strongest performer among major tokens. According to CoinDesk, every major cryptocurrency except Tron posted double-digit weekly gains. Crypto-related stocks also advanced as investors added exposure to digital assets.
