BYD Reaches 10,000 Flash Chargers in China, Halfway to Year-End Goal
BYD says it has installed 10,000 of its second-generation Flash Charger stations in China, reaching half of its 20,000 target for this year.

Chinese carmaker BYD has installed 10,000 of its second-generation Flash Charger stations in China, according to the company. The figure marks the halfway point toward its stated goal of putting 20,000 of the stations in place by the end of this year.
BYD introduced the second generation of the Flash Charger in spring and set the 20,000-unit target at the same time, as reported by electrive. The T-shaped stations each carry two charging cables and deliver up to 1,500 kW (1.5 megawatts) of charging power.
According to Electrek, the company only began the rollout earlier this year, meaning the 10,000 stations were installed in roughly five months. Electrek noted that this pace puts BYD roughly on track to meet its year-end objective.
