
CFTC Sends Crypto Market Rules to White House After CLARITY Act Stalls
The U.S. derivatives regulator submitted a prerule on crypto asset transactions and markets days after the Senate blocked the CLARITY Act.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has forwarded a proposed regulatory framework for crypto asset transactions and markets to the White House for review, pressing ahead with rule-making shortly after the Senate declined to advance major crypto legislation.
According to BitKE, the filing reached the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on September 17. It carries the title "Regulation Crypto Asset Transactions and Regulation Crypto Asset Markets" and is classified as a prerule, which means the agency has not yet formally proposed the rules. The document does not specify which crypto assets or market activities would fall under its scope.
