Chainalysis has taken legal action against the US government over a $94.7 million contract awarded to competitor TRM Labs by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to reporting from BitKE and Cointelegraph.
At the centre of the challenge is the argument that federal authorities relied on a sole-source procurement process to grant the contract, rather than opening it to competitive bidding. Cointelegraph reported that the complaint was filed under seal, meaning the specific objections raised by Chainalysis and the remedy it is seeking remain undisclosed while briefing continues.
