
Chainalysis Traces $387M Bitget Hack to North Korea Using In-House AI
Blockchain firm Chainalysis says it used its own AI to follow funds from the September Bitget breach, which it attributes to North Korea, across four chains.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis says it deployed in-house artificial intelligence to trace funds stolen in the Bitget exchange breach back to North Korea, according to Decrypt.
The breach took place on September 24, 2026. Reports put the stolen amount at roughly $387 million, with BitKE citing a figure of $387.7 million and noting that around $387.5 million in assets began moving across blockchains after the incident. Decrypt reported that Chainalysis tracked the funds across four blockchains in what the firm described as a race against the attackers, and said the breach pushed North Korea's 2026 cryptocurrency total past $1 billion.
