
Coinbase Files With CFTC to List Perpetual Futures on Individual Stocks
Coinbase has asked U.S. regulators to approve perpetual futures tied to individual stocks, aiming to move a crypto-market product into equity trading.

Coinbase has submitted a filing to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to list perpetual futures contracts linked to individual stocks, according to BitKE. The filing, made by Coinbase Derivatives, would let U.S. traders take positions on individual stocks without holding the underlying shares, with 24/5 trading access, pending regulatory approval.
Perpetual futures differ from conventional futures in that they carry no set expiration date. They typically rely on funding payments to keep contract prices in line with the underlying asset. Coinbase said the proposed products would extend its existing U.S. perpetual futures market.
