COLDCARD Wallet Flaw Tied to Multimillion-Dollar Bitcoin Theft
A seed-generation flaw in older COLDCARD hardware wallets has been linked to the draining of hundreds of Bitcoin, with estimates of the loss varying widely across reports.

Canadian hardware wallet maker Coinkite has warned users of its COLDCARD Mk3 devices to transfer their Bitcoin to new wallets after identifying a flaw in how seed phrases were generated, according to reporting by BitKE and BleepingComputer.
The defect involves a random number generator that may have produced predictable seed phrases, which attackers could exploit to gain control of the funds. BitKE reported that the issue affects wallets created on Mk3 devices running firmware versions 4.0.1 through 5.0.3. Newer Mk4, Q and Mk5 devices are not believed to be affected.
