European AI and Deep-Tech Startups Draw Fresh Capital Across Multiple Rounds

In Sweden, Stockholm-based life sciences company Pixelgen Technologies closed an oversubscribed €13.26 million ($15.5 million) Series B round. The financing was led by new investor Flat Capital, with continued backing from Industrifonden and Navigare Ventures. Pixelgen is adding Flat Capital chief executive Rickard El Tarzi and life sciences figure Ramon Felciano to its board. The company, which says it developed the first high-throughput platform for mapping molecular cell architecture, was founded in 2020 by Simon Fredriksson, Alvaro Martinez Barrio, Fredrik Dahl and Filip Karlsson, and emerged from stealth in December 2022 after an approximately €5.13 million ($6 million) seed round. It plans to use the capital to expand globally as demand grows for its Proxiome Kit and related software.

In Scotland, Edinburgh-based fabless semiconductor company Singular Photonics secured an oversubscribed €1.85 million ($2.15 million) round led by ACF Investors, with participation from Wren Capital, Cambridge Angels, Scottish Enterprise, Quantum Exponential and Old College Capital. Dipesh Patel, former chief technology officer of Arm, has joined its board. The company develops single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) image sensors with on-chip computation. It was founded in February 2024 by chief executive Shahida Imani, Aravind Venugopalan, Robert Henderson and Neil Finlayson as a spin-out from Henderson's lab at the University of Edinburgh, and emerged from stealth in January 2025.

The Danish HealthTech company has closed a pre-seed round led by Caesar Ventures to scale software designed specifically for psychiatry and mental health.
