European AI and mobility startups raise fresh funding rounds
Grubel, FRYTE Mobility and CloudNC have each closed new rounds, backing AI legal research, eTruck charging coordination and AI-powered machining.

Several European startups have announced new funding, spanning artificial intelligence for legal work, electric-truck charging coordination and precision machining software.
Grubel, an AI research lab based in Munich and Tübingen, has raised €3 million in pre-Seed funding to advance its research, product development and hiring. The company builds AI systems designed to adapt to individual legal matters. Point Nine led the round, with angel backers including Jeff Dean, Google's former chief scientist, Chris Ré, a Stanford professor and Together AI co-founder, Ion Stoica, a UC Berkeley professor and Databricks co-founder, and Harvey co-founders Gabe Pereyra and Winston Weinberg. Grubel was founded in 2026 by machine-learning researchers Moritz Hardt and Reinhard Heckel. Hardt is a director at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and previously worked at UC Berkeley and Google Brain, while Heckel is a professor of machine learning at TUM, currently on leave.
