SWI raises €800 million for AI infrastructure
SWI Group, an Amsterdam-listed investment holding company, raised €800 million from institutional investors to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to Ventureburn. The company reported a valuation of €6.1 billion, and the round lifted its equity fundraising since March 2026 above €1 billion. SWI said it would direct the proceeds toward power infrastructure, computing equipment and data centre development across Europe and the United States, with a strategy that includes building AI computing capacity and services for cloud customers. The investors were not disclosed. The transaction raised the company's outstanding shares to roughly 558.4 million and its free float to around 20%. The expansion builds on SWI's move to take control of Genesis Digital Assets, a Bitcoin mining business in which it announced a $500 million investment in June 2026. Genesis Digital was reported to hold 1.3 gigawatts of energised and approved grid connections across 15 facilities, with SWI intending to repurpose suitable sites for AI and high-performance computing.
