Magentic secures $18M for industrial AI agents
Magentic, which builds AI-powered digital workers for industrial companies, has closed an $18 million Series A round a year after its launch, according to Tech.eu. The round was led by Felicis, with participation from existing backers Sequoia Capital and The Westly Group.
The company develops multi-agent systems designed to automate procurement and operational tasks for large manufacturers. Its digital workers run through tools staff already use, such as Microsoft Teams, email and internal systems, and can handle workflows from end to end, including deciding whether to buy or build products, choosing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing orders and processing invoices. Magentic covers both indirect procurement and direct spending on raw materials. The firm says its technology is built to operate across the fragmented software environments common in global manufacturing, where companies may handle billions of data points alongside a mix of legacy enterprise systems and spreadsheets.
