
European Startups Immitra Bio and Ossprey Close Pre-Seed Rounds

Two European early-stage startups have announced separate pre-seed financing rounds targeting genetic medicine and software security.
Immitra Bio raises €2.58 million in Zürich
Immitra Bio, a Zürich-based genetic medicine company, has closed an upsized pre-seed round of €2.58 million (CHF 2.4 million), according to EU-Startups. Of that total, €2.42 million (CHF 2.25 million) came from venture capital and private investors, with a further €161.8k (CHF 150k) drawn from non-dilutive sources.
The round was led by Backbone Ventures and co-led by OCCIDENT, with participation from Another VC, Kickfund, Venture Kick, Zürcher Kantonalbank, FONGIT, ETH Foundation, and private investors. Founded in 2024 by Jan Nelis, Amir Taheri, and Jacob Corn, the company is building a platform for one-time curative in-vivo gene editing therapies based on what it describes as mutation-agnostic gene editing technology and a digital target identification system. Nelis, who serves as CEO, said the company aims to make gene editing therapies scalable, commercially viable, and accessible to patients, EU-Startups reported.
