Startup founders and investors across Europe have signed an open letter cautioning that the proposed EU Inc company statute risks becoming ineffective if its core elements are softened during the closing rounds of negotiations, according to Tech.eu.
EU Inc is a planned European company form intended to allow businesses to incorporate under a single common framework and operate across all 27 Member States. In the letter addressed to policymakers, the signatories argued that the European Parliament and Member States must deliver a genuinely European company form rather than an extra layer sitting on top of the existing 27 national systems.
