
European VC Firms Close Early-Stage Funds for Ocean and Industrial Tech
Redstone secured €25 million for a blue economy fund, while Norway's RunwayVC reached a €40 million first close for its second industrial technology fund.

Two European venture capital firms have announced first closes for new early-stage funds, each aimed at technology sectors tied to established industries.
Redstone, an early-stage VC firm, raised €25 million in the first close of Redstone Blue, a fund dedicated to startups in the blue economy. The fund, which launched in 2025, targets companies at the pre-seed to Series A stages that seek to make ocean-related industries cleaner, more efficient, and more technologically advanced. Redstone Blue is co-led by Klas Johansen and Tuomo Veivo, who both joined the firm last year to lead its blue economy strategy, working alongside Kaj Hagros, Redstone's managing partner for the Nordics.
