Framework has updated its Laptop 12, the company's most affordable model, with newer Intel processors and additional connectivity, according to reports from Engadget and TechPowerUp.
The convertible laptop now ships with Intel's Core Series 3 chips, replacing the 13th-generation Intel processors it originally launched with. According to TechPowerUp, the machine is available for pre-order in three configurations: the Intel Core 3 304, the Core 5 320, and the Core 7 350. These are six-core parts, with two performance cores and four efficiency cores.
TechPowerUp reports that configurations with the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H or a dedicated Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU are not offered.
Alongside the processor change, the Laptop 12 now includes two Thunderbolt 4-capable USB Type-C ports in its two rear-most expansion bays. According to TechPowerUp, this could allow for external GPU expansion or the use of other Thunderbolt peripherals.
