Sales of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 in South Korea reportedly increased by around 10% on a week-to-week basis after Apple announced its iPhone Duo foldable, according to Korean media reports.
Android Authority, citing industry sources reported by Maeil Business News, said the roughly 10% rise measured the week after Apple's announcement against the week before. GSMArena, citing the Korean publication The Chosun, reported a similar figure. Neither report disclosed specific sales numbers.
Several factors were linked to the shift. Some buyers had reportedly been waiting to see Apple's device before deciding between it and the Galaxy Z Fold8. The iPhone Duo is not due to ship until late October, whereas Samsung's foldable is already available, which was cited as one reason consumers chose the Samsung model.
