EU-Startups has published a ranking of the most active investors in Europe during the first half of 2026, based on a review of its own funding coverage from 1 January to 20 July 2026.
To compile the list, the outlet counted one mention for each distinct startup funding announcement in which an investor took part, regardless of whether it acted as lead, co-lead, a new backer or a returning one. Investors that finished with equal tallies were grouped together in the same position.
According to EU-Startups, one of the standout characteristics of the ranking is the prominence of investors active in Germany. Among the frequently cited names were High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital, while firms including Cherry Ventures, Atomico and Balderton Capital took part in sizable German rounds.
