Google has announced that developers will soon be able to integrate its Quick Share file transfer feature directly into their own apps, including on iPhone. The company revealed the plan at its Android Dev Summit, according to GSMArena.
Two software development kits are planned: a Quick Share SDK and a Quick Share iOS SDK for iPhone apps. Both are set to be released in the first half of 2027. Apps that adopt the tools will let users send files to nearby devices without having to go through the system share sheet.
The move follows a series of expansions for Quick Share over the past year. GSMArena reports that the feature began working with Apple's AirDrop on Pixel phones before that support spread to other Android devices, and that Google launched Tap to Share in August.
