Google is reportedly preparing to launch a new fitness tracker called the Fitbit Edge, according to leaks reported by several technology outlets.
The device first surfaced in August, when GSMArena reported that Google Australia inadvertently showed an upcoming Fitbit in official promotional images during the Pixel 11 series launch. A subsequent leak, attributed by Android Authority to Android Headlines, revealed the product's design and specifications in more detail.
According to the reports, the Fitbit Edge is set to succeed the Fitbit Charge, which was last seen in 2023 per Engadget. It is described as a fitness band with an oval touchscreen, GPS, an altimeter, support for displaying notifications, and up to seven days of battery life. The tracker is also said to offer limited app support, with Android Authority citing Google Maps and YouTube Music as examples.
