Aflabox, an Italian agritech startup focused on food safety, has closed a €1.35 million seed round to advance the commercialisation and industrial scaling of its AI-based food safety monitoring platform.
The equity round was carried out through FoodSeed, the agrifood accelerator within CDP Venture Capital's National Accelerator Network, which is managed by Eatable Adventures. It also drew participation from Farming Future, the National Agrifood Tech Technology Transfer Hub promoted by CDP Venture Capital SGR alongside ToSeed & Partners.
Founded in July 2024 by Luca Alinovi and Fabrizio Cardillo, the company has built a portable platform that brings testing directly into agricultural supply chains, rather than relying on distant laboratories. It combines portable hardware, UV and white-light imaging, artificial intelligence, geolocated data collection and cloud-based dashboards to detect mycotoxins, assess the commercial quality of grains and map contamination risk.
