Short-duration gold contracts on the prediction market platform Kalshi surpassed Ether in trading activity during September 2026, according to analysis reported by BitKE.
Kalshi's 15-minute gold contracts produced 542 million contracts and roughly $5 million in fees over the month. That compares with 318 million contracts and about $2.6 million in fees for Ether, which the platform had launched only weeks earlier. Bitcoin stayed ahead of both, with estimated fees of $60.4 million.
The shift extends beyond digital assets. BitKE reported that Kalshi's 15-minute markets spanning crypto, commodities, and financial assets generated $20.4 million in fees during the week ending October 5, 2026. Those markets accounted for 80% of the platform's non-sports fees while making up only 13% of trading volume.
