Electric vehicle maker Lucid sharply reduced its manufacturing output in the third quarter of 2026 as it prioritized selling cars it had already built.
According to Electrek, Lucid delivered 3,806 vehicles during the quarter, a 7% decline compared with the same period a year earlier. Production fell to 2,954 vehicles, a 38% drop from the prior quarter and the company's lowest output since early 2025. InsideEVs reported that deliveries came in below 4,000 and that production remains limited to a single shift.
Electrek reported that the pullback was deliberate. New Chief Executive Silvio Napoli is drawing down the stock of unsold vehicles that accumulated during the first half of the year. The third quarter marked the first time in 2026 that Lucid delivered more vehicles than it produced.
