Meanwhile, a Bermuda-based insurer offering life insurance policies denominated in Bitcoin, has secured $37.5 million in new funding from existing backers, according to Ventureburn.
Bain Capital Crypto led the round, with participation from Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures and Pantera Capital. Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures and Morgan Creek Digital also took part. The company's investor base additionally includes Sam Altman, alongside other crypto and institutional investment firms.
The raise brings Meanwhile's total funding to more than $180 million, and the company now holds a reported valuation of $350 million. Ventureburn reported that demand has come from wealthy Bitcoin holders internationally, with the strongest uptake across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Meanwhile said broader macroeconomic instability has also lifted interest in Bitcoin-based wealth planning. The capital is earmarked for further international expansion.
